Sustainable Travel in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites

“Nature has always been the starting point and meeting place for all our thoughts and deliberations,” says architect Heike Pohl. Fellow architect Andreas Zanier adds, “Architecture must understand the spirit of the place in order to serve it.” Not only did the duo achieve this by using locally sourced building materials such as larch wood, beeswax, and red porphyry, they also conveyed the special charm of the place further and explored the unique dynamics between nature and architecture on site. The result is a building that can be viewed as a frame for nature as a work of art. The numerous platforms, both indoors and outdoors and at different heights, offer various perspectives of the surrounding natural landscape to awaken your fascination time and again.

In the same careful way, we curate everything that shapes our guests’ stay. Our boutique luxury hotel is family-run, built on partnerships spanning generations, and relies on a deliberate selection of seasonal, local products that allows us to ensure the highest quality: the scent of Swiss pine fills the rooms with calm, larch wood radiates warmth, and our cuisine blends high-alpine inspired, traditionally rooted dishes with the refinement expected by internationally minded luxury travelers. In local craftsmanship, we have sought out the champions of pinewood turning, carpentry, and other traditional trades, who place their mastery shoulder to shoulder with international design classics. In every detail – from the plate to the furniture – the alpine origin merges with universal elegance, creating a stay that conveys Sense of Place, luxury, and authenticity.

but, above all, a good example.

Our food concept is proof that a luxurious, rich breakfast can do without ingredients that have been flown in. That sometimes the most delicious and healthiest things grow in your own garden. Our superfoods are also great for the environment and come from our own region. Wild mountain herbs, colourful wild berries, seasonal vegetables, and animal products from responsible local producers.
